OUR TEAK-DECKING SYSTEM:

We’re using First class “certificated” Birmanian Teak (tectona grandis) which will be selected by our carpenter at Teakwood import company;

  • Teak-wood will be cut to very tight grain boards.
  • Teak lath width: customers’ wishes (37-45 mm) or same as it was before on the deck!
  • All boards approximately the same width (37mm-45mm); the large pieces (fish/sides) can be differing.
  • No narrow pieces of wood; Length of boards: 3m – 6m
  • Teak around openings can be rounded or square.
  • Teak board ends at fish – rounded or square.
  • Visible edges will be wood with caulking only underneath, rounded wood edge, not too much caulk, even caulk lines;
  • Caulk lines will be very neat – no chips on wood edges;
  • Wood thickness 7mm – 14mm at finish; on request up to 20 mm thickness.
  • No screws or staples in the final deck;
  • Test of the Teakwood and deck for dryness before installation with a moisture-meter.
  • Wood should be 12% maximum moisture.
  • Manufacture with pressing method using Mastic (Sika, Sealine100, Bostik or TDS);
  • Sika, Bostik or TDS Mastic will be used for the caulk;
  • Epoxy will be used if the Boat is an A-Class Type!
  • Mastic drying process – trim the heads after 7 – 10 days
  • Lightly sand of the deck and vacuum as final work
